I live on a terraced street with no driveway. Can you still do it?

Usually, yes. A lot of Cowley, Headington and East Oxford is terraced with permit parking and no off-street space, and we work on plenty of cars parked on the road. What we need is a space where the car can sit for about an hour with room to work around it. Send us the street name when you get in touch and we’ll tell you straight whether it’ll work.

Can you remap my car while I’m at work?

Yes, and it’s how a lot of our customers book it. If you’re at Oxford Business Park, the Oxford Science Park, Milton Park or anywhere with a car park you can leave the car in, we come during the working day. You hand over the keys and carry on with your job.

Do you charge extra to come to Oxford?

No. We offer a mobile service and the callout is included in the price. Stage 1 from £295, Stage 2 from £375, gearbox from £295.

Is a remap worth it if I commute on the A34?

It’s one of the situations where it makes the most difference. A lot of Oxford driving is steady work down the A34 or out on the M40, and more torque low down means the engine doesn’t have to work as hard to hold speed. On a diesel doing those miles you’ll often see the economy improve rather than drop.

Do you cover the villages outside Oxford?

Yes. Kidlington, Wheatley, Garsington, Abingdon and out towards Witney are all on our regular patch. Being mobile means a village address is no harder for us than a city one, and it’s usually easier for parking.

How long does it take?

Between 1 – 2 hours in most cases, including diagnostics and a road test.

Is it reversible?

Yes. We save your original file and can put it back whenever you want, whether that’s before a dealer visit, a warranty claim or a sale.

Do I need to tell my insurer?

Yes. A remap counts as a modification and has to be declared. Most insurers are fine with it. Not declaring is what causes problems.

Once you’ve had a Stage 1 or Stage 2 remap, your engine is making more torque than the gearbox was originally programmed to expect. By leaving the TCU standard, it will often pull power back to protect itself, or shift at points that no longer match where the engine is strongest.

Remapping both together means the two work as a pair: the box holds the extra torque, shifts where the power actually is, and delivers the full benefit of the engine work you’ve already paid for.
