What is a Performance Remap?
Custom ECU Programming
Your engine is controlled by the ECU (Engine Control Unit). It decides how much fuel goes in, how much boost the turbo makes, when the spark fires and how hard the engine is allowed to work. A performance remap rewrites that software.
Manufacturers don’t programme engines to their limit. They account for potential discrepancies with fuel quality, different climates, skipped services and emissions testing. This translates into a conservative map, and quite a bit of performance is left on the table.
We rewrite that software to suit the car in front of us: your engine, your fuel, your driving. Safe, dyno-tested performance remaps that protect your factory settings while optimising ignition timing and fuel injection.
Important: a remap is a software change. It’s not a repair, and it won’t hide a worn turbo, a tired clutch or an underlying fault. We run diagnostics before we write anything, and if the car isn’t fit to be remapped, we’ll tell you.

Book a Performance RemapWhich would be better for you, a Stage 1 or a Stage 2 Remap?
Both are custom files written for your specific car. The difference is what hardware the engine is running underneath.
Stage 1 Performance Remap
A software remap on an otherwise standard car without having to upgrade or modify any parts. This is the most popular choice for car owners wanting noticeable performance gains in their car’s performance. You’ll get 15-35% stronger pulling power, improvements in throttle response and acceleration, and an improved car feel, all without sacrificing reliability.
Stage 1 is right for you if:
- Your car is standard, or close to it
- You want more power and sharper response without buying parts
- The car is a daily driver and needs to stay reliable
- You want it done in one visit, on your driveway or workplace car park
Stage 2 Performance Remap
For cars already running upgraded or modified parts, typically an intake, intercooler, exhaust or downpipe. Those parts change how the engine breathes, and a standard file won’t account for them. A Stage 2 map is written around what’s actually fitted, so the hardware does what you paid for it to do. Typical gains are 30-60% increase in power, strong mid-range torque, and aggressive acceleration.
Stage 2 is right for you if:
- You’ve already fitted supporting mods, or you’re planning to
- You want the full benefit of hardware that’s already on the car
- You’re comfortable modifying the car beyond software alone
Stage 2 needs the hardware in place first. If the parts aren’t fitted yet, Stage 1 is the right starting point, and the file can be rewritten later if you upgrade.

Best Results: Engine Remap + Gearbox Remap Together
Once you’ve had a Stage 1 or Stage 2 remap, your engine is making more torque than the gearbox was originally programmed to expect. By leaving the TCU standard, it will often pull power back to protect itself, or shift at points that no longer match where the engine is strongest.
Remapping both together means the two work as a pair: the box holds the extra torque, shifts where the power actually is, and delivers the full benefit of the engine work you’ve already paid for.
